Jennifer Haines will assume her role as Auburn’s city manager earlier than planned.

The Auburn City Council will vote on a resolution this week to amend her contract, moving her start date to May 31, aligning with the retirement of current City Manager Jeff Dygert on May 30.(See below)

Originally, Dygert was set to serve until his contract expired at the end of June, but according to the resolution he has since notified the city he plans to retire a month early, allowing Haines to take over before the fiscal year ends. Until then, she will continue as assistant city manager.
