An Auburn student has died as a result of injuries she sustained in a bicycle accident last month.

In a letter to the community, Auburn School officials announced that high school student 15-year-old Mercedes Falcone died this week.  Auburn High School has a crisis team of counselors, social workers, psychologists, and other professionals trained to help with the needs of students, parents, and staff on-site today.

Falcone was riding on Washington Street near the intersection with Perrine Street on September 28th when her bicycle was struck by a motor vehicle.

According to a GoFundMe page started by her family, Mercedes sustained severe brain damage and skull fractures.
