A new mural celebrating Auburn as a tourist destination will be unveiled downtown this Friday above Nash’s Framing & Art.

Designer Arthur the Artist says he’s honored to contribute to city’s beauty. He told Finger Lakes News Radio “Auburn has changed a lot in the passed 20 years. It’s becoming almost like a model for other small cities, so it’s great to be able to be a part of all the great changes here.”

With a modern take on the vintage postcard look, the mural shows off the city’s various attractions, displayed in the mural’s lettering. Places represented include Hoopes and Emerson Parks, the Logan Monument at Fort Hill Cemetery, Willard Memorial Chapel, and Falcon Park.

Arthur added that he was inspired by downtown’s historical buildings. When it came to what landmarks to include, he went on Facebook and asked local what they would like to see represented within the mural’s lettering.

The approximately 520sq ft mural will be unveiled Friday at 11:30a.
