A dirt bike accident in Onondaga County claimed the life of an Auburn man.

According to State Police, Caleb Devoe was operating a 2011 Yamaha dirt bike on Tanner Road in Onondaga at around 7:30 Monday night when, for unknown reasons, he exited the trail and went down a five-foot embankment.  The 33-year-old was found at the bottom of the embankment by bystanders.

As Devoe was being transported by TLC Ambulance, he lost consciousness and went into cardiac arrest. Life-saving measures were performed, and Devoe was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where he was ultimately pronounced dead.

The investigation remains ongoing.
