The monument for Harriet Tubman Davis in Auburn, New York, honors her legacy as a heroine of the Underground Railroad and Civil War nurse.

Three upcoming events in the City of Auburn will celebrate Juneteenth.

On Saturday, the Booker T Washington Center will hold a parade at 11:30a, following a proclamation at City Hall. The parade will culminate with a community celebration at the center’s Chapman Ave location.

On Sunday, Willard Memorial Chapel will hold a free concert, featuring songs of the civil rights era.

On Monday, Fort Hill Cemetery will host a special lecture by Doctor Judith Wellman followed by driving and walking tours of the cemetery which holds the remains of abolitionist Harriet Tubman.
