A Cayuga County educator has made it into the quarterfinals of the contest to be named America’s Favorite Teacher.

Angela Carnicelli is a sixth-grade special education teacher at Genesee Elementary School in Auburn.

As part of the America’s Favorite Teacher competition, she is competing for $25,000, a trip to Hawaii, and an appearance in Reader’s Digest. If she wins, she said she’ll give a portion of her winnings to her school’s parent/teacher partnership program.

Voting for the quarterfinals ends on April 17. If you’d like to vote for Angela, you can do so here.
