A week after he was arrested on a felony charge of grand larceny, the Deputy Superintendent of the Auburn Correctional Facility has been demoted.

Gregory Stachowski was arrested last Friday in Horseheads after he allegedly stole the cell phone of the other person he was involved in a road rage incident with. A video of the incident later appeared on social media.  Stachowski, who lives in Big Flats, has been demoted to Captain. Fingerlakes1.com reports Stachowski was also reassigned to the Wende Correctional Facility just outside of Buffalo.

Stachowski is scheduled to make a court appearance on Tuesday
