While the Cayuga County Office Building remains closed, the Treasurer’s Office is temporarily relocating.

The public can now pay their taxes or receive tax help in person at the Carr Building at 188 Genesee Street, Suite 104 in Auburn. Beginning Tuesday, the office will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00a-3:00p.

Payments can still be dropped off in a sealed envelope at the treasurer’s drop box at the office building or through the county’s online system.

The county office building will remain closed until roof repairs can be made, something anticipated to last until the end of August. The repairs are necessary due to structural damage and possible asbestos exposure, stemming from a May storm.

January windstorm had previously closed the offices, leading the legislature to fast-track planned renovations to the 58-year-old building.
