AmeriCU Credit Union is celebrating 75 years in 2025. AmeriCU’s story began in Rome, New York when a group of civilian employees at Griffiss Air Force Base pooled resources to create what was then Griffiss Employees Credit Union. With a shared vision and $68 in assets, these founding members laid the groundwork for what would become one of the largest credit unions headquartered in New York State, now serving 24 counties in Central New York, the Mohawk Valley, Northern New York, and the Southern Tier. One of its branch locations is on Grant Avenue in Auburn.

“This milestone anniversary is a testament to the relationships our team members have built over the years, and the lives we’ve helped improve,” said Ron Belle, President and CEO of AmeriCU Credit Union. “This celebration is not just about looking back on how far we’ve come, but also looking forward to the future we will create together.”

To commemorate this milestone AmeriCU Credit Union is planning a year-long celebration, filled with special events, promotions, giveaways, and community-focused initiatives to honor its members and the dedication of its team.
