“All Options” for the Cayuga County Office Building

Debris and caution tape surround the Cayuga County Office Building in Auburn, New York, following a storm that damaged its roof.

Cayuga County Legislature Chairman Jonathan Anna says that quote “all options” are being considered for the shuttered office building.

The Citizen reports those options include demolishing the existing structure and constructing a new facility.

The building in Auburn has been closed since May after asbestos-containing vermiculite was found in the upper floors.

Last September, it was announced the building would remain closed for two years. County departments were forced to move to temporary locations amid the closure.

Anna made the remarks yesterday during his State of the County address.
