One Cayuga County School is sending its Odyssey of the Mind team to the Worlds competition in Michigan.

Laura McGetrick is the coach for the Cato-Meridian 8th Grade team heading to the international finals. Speaking with Finger Lakes News Radio, she shared her team’s excitement, saying this is a big big deal. It’s their second time making it to Worlds; last year was their first time they made it. I’ve been coaching for like ten years and last time was our first year. They’re thrilled. It’s a big deal.”

McGetrick adds the seven member team has also been awarded with a Renatra Fusca award, a rarely given out honor, recognizing their group’s ability to work as a team.
