United Way of Cayuga County has announced which design will appear on t-shirts and marketing for the 2026 Day of Caring event.

Olivia, a fourth grader in the Auburn Enlarged City School District, has had her design named as the winner of the design competition. Her design will appear on t-shirts worn by volunteers during this year’s event.

Now in its sixth year, the Day of Caring is an annual event where volunteers from across the county take on a variety of projects to assist nonprofits and give back to the community.

Volunteer and project registration are currently open. The deadline to register a project is July 10, while the deadline to volunteer is July 22; however, volunteers must register by July 2 to ensure they receive a t-shirt. Registration information can be found on United Way’s website.

This year’s Day of Caring will take place on August 6.
