Auburn City Council will vote on Thursday to lease space at City Hall to two displaced economic development agencies

If approved, the resolution would see the Cayuga County Development Corporation and the Small Business Development Center move into City Hall to conduct their business.

With the anticipated impact of Micron’s development in nearby Clay, the city believes it is essential for these agencies to have a presence in Auburn and Cayuga County. To assist with this endeavor, the city will lease the space to these agencies, only charging them one dollar for rent.

Under the proposed lease agreement, the agencies would share two offices, totalling approximately 700 ft sq of space. The term of the lease would be January 1, 2026, to December 1, 2026.
