Finger Lakes Daily News weather graphic forecasts tonight's low and tomorrow's cloudy conditions, leading into a warm and humid midweek.

I’m watching a heat and humidity build that’s going to make the back half of this week feel noticeably different from today — and Thursday and Friday could push into uncomfortable territory. For tonight, conditions stay mild and muggy, with lows settling in the low-to-mid 60s region-wide. Increasing cloud cover will hold temperatures up overnight, and there’s a chance of scattered showers developing after midnight as our next weather system approaches. No frost risk tonight — quite the opposite.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, brings a brief reprieve. Westerly flow keeps conditions slightly cooler, with highs topping out in the upper 70s to low 80s and clouds lingering through much of the day. Ithaca and Auburn should see a comfortable afternoon before humidity starts building again Thursday.

The bigger story develops Thursday into Friday. Another ridge pushes heat indices into the low-to-mid 90s, and NWS Buffalo has flagged heat headlines as possible for some locations. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are also expected to work through the region through Friday evening. Plan accordingly if you have outdoor events later in the week.
