Investing in the Finger Lakes
Every month, FLX Local Media puts back into the community through inFLX, our community grant program. Grant recipients also receive on-air promotion across our radio stations.
How It Works
- A limited number of grants per month — up to $250 each.
- Rolling applications — apply any time.
- Priority for smaller, local groups — we focus on the organizations that don’t have access to larger grant programs.
Who Can Apply
Any community oriented group, school, team, club, or individual in the greater Finger Lakes region. This includes youth and adult sports teams, after-school programs, environmental and beautification projects, arts and cultural activities, civic organizations, and more.
Applications with a broadcasting, media, or journalism component — school radio programs, student news projects, media literacy initiatives — receive additional consideration.
Organizations may apply as often as they wish but may only receive one grant per calendar year. Recipients allow FLX Local Media to promote the activity on-air and online, and provide a few photos or a brief recap afterward.
What We Don’t Fund
- Political campaigns, advocacy, or lobbying
- For-profit business activities
- Internal religious operations (but community-serving activities by religious organizations are eligible — community dinners, clothing drives, youth programs, etc.)
