Yates County SCOPE invites the public to attend our “Judges Night” where you can meet the four candidates running for the two open seat in this year’s election for 7th Judicial Supreme Court Justices.
The 7th Judicial District of New York includes the counties of Monroe, Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, Yates, Livingston, and Cayuga. This district is responsible for the administration of justice across various legal matters, including criminal, civil, family, and surrogate court cases.
The district’s courts are designed to ensure that legal proceedings are conducted fairly and efficiently. Each county within the 7th Judicial District has its own court facilities, where judges preside over cases and administer justice in accordance with state laws. In addition to trial courts, the 7th Judicial District also encompasses appellate courts (the Fourth Department Appellate Division), allowing for the review of decisions made in lower courts.
Our 7th Judicial District Judges are charged with upholding the rule of law and protecting the rights of all individuals involved in court proceedings. The 7th Judicial District is critical to the integrity and effectiveness of the legal process in New York State.
