In honor of National Preservation Month and the 200th anniversary of the historic Mentz Church the public is invited to a program presented by the Town of Montezuma and Old Mentz Heritage Center on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 2 PM to celebrate the 200th anniversary of its founding. The countryside landmark built by early settlers was one of the first to be served by roving clergy established as the Methodist Episcopal Church of Mentz on May 10, 1825. Now owned by the Town of Montezuma ,it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is used for special events.
