Celebrating its 48th year of theatre, Geneva Theatre Guild, along with the GTG Youth Theatre, present Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical on the stage of The Smith Opera House. Dates and showtimes for the performances are August 2 and 3 at 7:30pm, and Sunday, August 4 at 2:00pm.

The cast features Malaika Byrne as Matilda Wormwood; Jesse Halstead in the role of Trunchbull; Daisy Schwartz as Miss Honey; TJ Bogart as Mr Wormwood; Beatrice Carson as Mrs, Wormwood; Julian Wells as Michael Wormwood; Geoffrey Hellauer-Geiger as Escapologist/Doctor; Alena Black as Acrobat; Loren Schmidtgall as Rudolpho; Fiona Marino as Lavender; Urijah Ward as Bruce; Jackson Davis as Nigel; Adeline Principio as Amanda; Valerie Wells as Alice; Hannon Bienvenue as Eric; Jennifer Curren as Hortensia. The adult ensemble also includes Beatrice Van Riper in various roles. The youth ensemble includes Gannon Annear, Kenlynn Ansley, Lillie Austin, Francesca Calabrese, Elizabeth Ann Ciancaglini, Stella Fish, Giuliana Glick, Marshall Godwin, Reagan Hilimire, Isabella Humphrey, Ella Jacobs, Austin Kaufman, Kayla Jo Kaufman, Maira Khan, Jimmy Martinez, John August Norwalk, Paige Osborne, Anna Pollino, Alexis Slade, Shayla Smith, Sydney Stoddard, Paige VanNostrand, Miles Ventura, and Logan Yuan.

The show is directed by Elizabeth Tuxill of Geneva. Other members of the production team are Music Director Liz Wells; Set Designer and Lead Artist Lara Schmidtgall; Choreographer Jillian VanLare; Master Carpenter Oscar Yuan;; Lighting Designer Momo Percey of The Smith Opera House; Sound Engineer Ari Corsner of The Smith Opera House; Costume Designer Luann Preston-Wilsey; and Stage Manager Bella Amato.

The Geneva Theatre Guild’s production of Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical is made possible with funds from Auburn Public Theater Regrants with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State legislature and administered by Auburn Public Theater. Additional funding provided by The Williams Family Foundation, The Wyckoff Family Foundation, and the Geneva Rotary Club.

Tickets are $20 for Adults, $18 for Seniors 65+ and Students, and $12 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at the door or on the Geneva Theatre Guild website at www.genevatheatreguild.org/tickets. Seating will be assigned so pre-purchasing tickets is highly recommended.
