“The Angels of Bastogne” will be the subject of a talk at 2 pm Sunday, October 19 at the Frontenac Museum in Union Springs. Glenn Ivers, author of the book by the same name, will share the story of the courageous medical team of American doctor Jack Prior and Belgian nurses Renee La Maire and Augusta Chiwy. Together this team saved many lives while under siege and bombardment in Bastogne, Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge fought during World War II in December of 1944. Dr. Jack Prior returned to Syracuse, NY to become a prominent physician and highly regarded member of the community.
Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. The museum is located at 178 Cayuga St. in Union Springs.
