The event of a lifetime!
There will be a Total Solar Eclipse that will be visible in Central and Western NY State on April 8, 2024.
This is a free event but is limited to 100 people as the parking area can only accommodate 25 cars.
April 8, 2024: This is the event of a lifetime! Areas near Lake Erie, Lake Ontario, and the northern parts of the Finger Lakes, including Buffalo, Rochester, Seneca Falls/Waterloo, and Syracuse will be “under the moon’s shadow” in the mid-afternoon. We at the Seneca Meadows Education Center are hosting a free “Total Eclipse Watching Party,” with a barbecue, radio DJ, very short presentation, and solar “eclipse” glasses. Prior to totality, we will stream the eclipse live (from Mexico or Texas). This occurs at least a half-hour to an hour before we get to see it live, so in effect we can observe the eclipse twice!
