Celebrate Seneca County Ag Night

Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension invites all interested in local food and agriculture to join them in celebrating the bounty of Seneca County’s farms, dairies, and vineyards on Tuesday, October 7th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Fall Street Brewing Co. located at 97 Fall Street in Seneca Falls.

Agriculture is a mainstay of Seneca County’s economic health, with 422 farms operating on 103,156 acres with a total market value of $560,288,000 (land, equipment, machinery) which generates over $110.4 million/year for the local economy according to the USDA 2022 Ag Census.  Come join the celebration and sample local produce and foods prepared using our Farm to School and SNAP-Ed recipes.  The recipes will be available so you can recreate them at home!  Additionally, several other local food purveyors will be on hand featuring their unique products including the Cayuga Wine Trail.  Craft beverages and wood fired oven pizza from Fall Street Brewing Co. will be available for purchase.  Representatives from CCE’s Regional Agriculture teams and other county agricultural related organizations will also be on hand to provide information and answer questions.

“We hope that people will join us at a new time of year at a wonderful new venue to enjoy some great local products and recipes while learning about and recognizing the critical role of agriculture in Seneca County” stated Seneca County CCE Executive Director Ave Bauder.  “This is a fabulous opportunity to taste some of the best and freshest ingredients that Seneca County and the Finger Lakes has to offer.”

The event is open to the public and there is no charge or registration needed.  For further information about Celebrate Seneca County Ag Night, contact Seneca County CCE by email [email protected] or call 315-539-9251 and watch for any updates on the Seneca County CCE website.
