We invite you to volunteer in our first Caring for Your Cemetery Day!
Most members of the public are unaware that cemeteries are not-for-profit organizations that depend heavily on volunteer contributions. Through this event, we will raise awareness of the hard work and dedication that goes into cemeteries’ care, maintenance, and preservation and the significant impact additional volunteer assistance can provide.
Possible tasks include
-Cleaning up small debris and trash
-Removing downed branches, weeds, and overgrowth
-Scattering grass seed
-Other light tasks appropriate for untrained volunteers
We hope this project will generate interest in our cemetery, especially among younger people, serve as a recruitment tool for future volunteers or even officers and trustees/ directors, and identify local people with skills that our cemetery needs.
